The drummer Michael Kinney is a real one. Some people have that musician flare, that gravitas, that x-factor, that sense that they belong on stage in front of 20,000 people. That’s Michael. And on top of that, he has a groove unlike any drummer I’ve ever worked with. He slides the listener through the beats instead of pummeling us with the drum hits. Plus, he plays with such pure intention and raw passion—translating as energetic drumming but NOT simply banging really hard. It’s almost mystifying to experience.
